Point Hicks Lightstation
The walk to the lighthouse on Point Hicks is a journey through time. In April 1770 the granite headland became Captain James Cook’s first sighting of the Australian mainland. Experience pristine natural beauty and immerse yourself in history.

From Cann River, follow the signs to Croajingolong NP and then Thurra River. The walk commences 3km past the Thurra Campground at the Lightstation Reserve gate.
Fees payable for lighthouse tours
Parking, toilet and picnic facilities and camping available at Thurra Campground. Lighthouse tours available call (03) 5158 4268 10am-3pm weekdays for bookings.
Level 2 - No experience required. The track is hardened gravel or compacted surface and may have a gentle hill section or sections and some steps. Walks up to 10km.
Pets and firearms not permitted. Please observe fire restrictions. Please note that there is no access permitted to or beyond the Lightstation’s stone walls.
